It's a ranking system; regular members have 1 star, then as they get more posts they get 2 stars. Moderators, administrators, and a few other respected members have like 5 stars. Nothing important, it's just a phpBB feature.

Copy the original mmlang.dll file from your disk back to the computer, then use Google to find a tool that'll help you safely modify the DLL file.
