I see. Well I have to say you calmed me down some with the Gaming Zone servers info. :-) Thanks. Well - I shall have a look into exe again if I find anything more this time, in the mean time I guess I'll just allow it access because that really speeds up the startup - it's instant that way. We'll ke...

Thanks, for reply, but that solves nothing. I've increased heap size on my own some time ago, but that's besides the point. The point is it wants to connect and if it can't it's not behaving well and that has to be edited out in the .exe. We need patch for this specific issue or location where to mo...

MM2 delayed start

Hi! Midtown2.exe with XP patch wants to connect to internet via port 80, last time to 23.9.6.78 (there were other addresses before). If I allow it to - it starts up quickly, however if not allowed by firewall, it takes some 10 seconds delay to start loading the game and getting into menu. I have sea...

Thank you so much for the link to your great instructions! :D
I do prefer editing the file manually - that way I at least know what I have changed. I'll get right on it.

Unfortunately the link to the view_distance_patcher program is broken - would someone be so kind and post the file somewhere and/or update the link?

Thank you.

I see. Well - yes it is about the MMArchive's source. I should have looked at the other topics then...

Could you please list some? Thx.

I see. Well - it would be very nice indeed. 8)

I saw an interesting file on the other site - the source of mm2.

Perhaps some programmers could start an OpenMM2 project like OpenTTD was started years ago. Sweet. :)

Thank you for all your replies.

I do have the XP patch from before and that one didn't work, I'll try the one that NiAlBlack posted a link to, perhaps it will work.

Midtown 1 does not work in XP with more RAM

I apologise if this was asked before, but I quickly searched but found nothing on the topic - so - is it possible to make MM1 run on XP or other NT machine with more than 1GB of system RAM? The next question then would be - as my MM2 topic - is there a way to convince to render in 32/24-bit color (a...

Midtown 2 in 32-bit

Hi! I was wondering if anyone discovered in the .exe a possibility for MM2 to consider 32-bit rendering; all graphics cards support it, MM2 textures are in 24-bit format, so it would look so much better on newer video cards that lack dithering support if Midtown games were 32-bit... To tell you the ...
