About the unlimited cops, 10 is recommended, because if you have more than 10 cops chasing you, the game becomes unstable and can crash. I haven't tested more than 10 cops, but yes, even before crashing they become clumsy (they tend to crowd at a point behind the player), MM2 was not programmed to ...

The main benefit is that this runs more or less, while the only Xbox emulator capable of booting MM3 (XQEMU) cannot even go ingame, it only gets to menus. (and very slowly) Also with this you get better graphics than on the Xbox (for example, the facades on the Xbox use the high-detail LOD only on t...

Sorry for the long wait, I had to study for several exams, and attending classes at the university also takes a lot of time, anyway I managed to understand how the city colliders work, and now they are loaded ingame, this fixes things such as stairs, I also fixed car steering and suspensions, build ...

The sounds reproduced will be the same as in the original MM3. Anyway, transcribing the files is not necessary, the sound system is simpler than I thought initially, I will use the original beta text files without any edits. (Also, the compiled version of the beta files look practically the same as ...

Update: in the last month I could not work at the project because I had to study for some exams. Anyway, in the last week I resumed, I finished re-tuning the cars for the new system and started working on engine sounds. The sound scripts in the final game are compiled in binary form, but a MM3 beta ...

Update: In the last weeks I've been trying to implement vehicle engines properly, since the system I was using before was basically a hack job from the ground up to mimic the original cars' performance, and it didn't support engine RPM, so it couldn't handle gears properly (especially manual transmi...

For modding, there are two main areas: 1) Adding new tracks and cars: here things are easier, I can: Add support for MM2 cities/cars (or any other game, in theory) And/or create ad-hoc formats for cars and cities (I could also implement things not present in MM2/3, possibilities are virtually endles...

Surely you had to extract the game disc data in order to load them in the emulator, right? Of course, I dumped the MM3 DVD contents long time ago using my modded Xbox and saved them in my PC. From the reply, you can read that I got to see that an old member called Pabolo apparently succeeded to pla...

The DVD data has not been edited in any way. Anyway this is not a help request, I just posted the result of a test, it crashes just because it's not fully compatible yet. By the way, the only Xbox emulators (apart from Microsoft's Xbox backwards compatibility mode for Xbox 360, which can't run MM3) ...

Midtown Madness 3 on XQEMU
I just wanted to share this: I just tested MM3 on XQEMU, besides the fact that it's unbearably slow (about 10 times slower than it should be, 1 FPS average, with debug disabled), it gets to menus, but it crashes just before going ingame. https://i.imgur.com/zjkrzPl.jpg https://i.imgur.com/ticsM1x.jp...

There is no publicly available program capable of editing MM3's .pak files. In fact, this project is the only program capable of loading them, and still not completely. Anyway, for modding I can add support for ad hoc formats or even MM2 formats. Modding MM3 cities is a bit more difficult, but it co...
