Question about Gran Turismo Soundtrack

Postby Doof4294967296 » Sun Apr 12, 2015 2:28 pm

Ok I know every Gran Turismo game from 1 to 6 has 3 different versions. Anyway I had the jap and us version. I noticed that the soundtrack was totally different and even in the european version. Ok, the question is why do they change it? Does anyone here has an idea? I'm gonna say I like most the original game soundtrack, the japanese one.

Possibly because different areas have different tastes.. sort of like dialects.

They remixed Stop the Rock by Apollo 440 for GT1.

Polyphony tends to favour Japan more (because they're Japanese themselves of course xD) so maybe that's the reason?

They have different soundtracks that are obviously meant for a certain region, for example...

GT2 US:

Stone Temple Pilots, Apollo 440, Garbage, Rob Zombie, Foo Fighters, Beck...

GT2 EURO:

Fatboy Slim, Everything But The Girl, Ash, Propellerheads, Stereophonics...

They are suited for what was popular in those regions at the time.
