Games freeze as people try to join my multiplayer session

Postby heyitsjack » Sun Nov 01, 2015 10:29 pm

So, previously, everything worked fine, and my friend living overseas could connect to my game session using a Hamachi network.

But recently, we found that she could no longer do so, even though my game session shows up when searching for a game. She proceeds to join the game and her computer just freezes, and responds again, but remains on the multiplayer screen.

Make sure your ports are forwarded. That was always an annoyance with Hamachi.

We tried playing with a fresh client, but this didn't help.

I ensured that all ports (47624, 2300-2400) are all forwarded, and I have tried to do so for both my Hamachi and ethernet IPv4 adresses.

Now her game cannot even find my session on the multiplayer menu. Have I broken something?

You could try playing on Gameranger. There are a bunch of annoying and weird kids playing there these days, but if you can ignore that, it's a good option for when TCP/IP doesn't work.

Sorry I took so long, I haven't been here for a while.

We did try Gameranger but it wouldn't work with our mods, sadly. Either that or some other issue.

We're going to try again soon with a clean version of the game and if it works we'll take it from there.
