Problems with MM2 and GTX 1080 (or Windows 10?)

Postby Doof4294967296 » Fri Sep 29, 2017 7:58 am

I just bought a new setup (PC). And I saw that MM2 is lagging so bad in the menu. I get like 15 fps! But it's perfectly fine in-game. Anyone knows what causes it? Is it my video card or it's because I'm using Windows 10?

Anyways, here are the specs:

Processor: Intel Core i7 7700K (4.20 GHz)
RAM: 8.00 GB
System Type: Windows 10 Pro (Version: 1703, Build: 15063.608)
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080

Get a patch. Windows 10 causes problems with MM2.

I know dgVooDoo and I use it with Motorhead since the game won't start at all without it. But I play MM2 at 1080p and it just causes lags in-game with some texture glitches

Well mate if you carefully read that thread it clearly states that some users also faced texture bugs as well even if the game ran fine, Anyways your GPU supports DirectX 10 to 12.1 and not 7 which is required for Midtown Madness 2 to function properly also Windows 10 has broken Direct Draw which is a required component for MM2!

You could also try partitioning your HDD make one for Windows 7 install MM2 on it and Enjoy!

By the way the Extended Support for Windows 7 will end by 2020!

Actually the game is fine. It's just weird that the fact that it only lags on the menu screen
