[code] tag problem

Postby Anthony » Tue Aug 26, 2008 11:41 pm

There is an error with your code tag. Blimy lol Illl find a working tag soon.

Here is some code.

[less than]?php
$string = "gjl;kr5m~gf8*jl;rkm#g#Mhfjkfl2345;a@kjfdbbrNV~E'J5Nknk@22@kNlkV3'EVK54k4eJK~EJkjgssl'kjTkjlkJRJl#k~jlekgjk#d";
echo ereg_replace("[^M R a d n e s]", "", $string);
?[greater than]

Now if I put that in code tags here is what i get.

Code: Select all

<php>

The code BBcode tag lets display a text and any code like that. This forum hasn't the BBcode for the PHP, so you can't use PHP script codes.

The code BBcode tag cancels every result of any other bbcode and HTML codes. But I'm not sure of what do you mean. :roll:

what I mean is that the bbcode on this forum i smessed up.

Code: Select all

tag. The code tag removes all formatting, the idea is that you put code in between the code tags and the code is not touched. For example. [url]https://phpfreaks.com/forum[/url]. Go there and you will see how the code tag is supposed to work. Normally if I were to paste some code it would be edited by the forum. For example <img> that there was... <img src="pic.jpg" alt="pic" /> The idea of the code tag is that if I put that in code tags, it should not be changed, but..., clearly it is being changed. [code]<img>
What I am trying to say is that your code tags don't work.
[code:1]<php>[/code:1]

This stuff isn't for me... :?

The code BBcode tag do what you've said, and it's ok.
I know that some codes of this website forum are messed up, and the upgrade to the phpBB 3.0 of the forum will solve them.

ok, kl, I was going to suggest upgrading to phpbb3.

though personally I would recommend SMF, coz its much easier to skin.

We can't upgrade to SMF, the software we use (PHPNuke) revolves entirely around the phpBB setup.

Conversely we can't upgrade to phpBB3 because its database has a completely different configuration from the phpBB2 PHPNuke is designed for.

It has a free version and a paid version, but the free version is Open Source in the sense that you can edit the code freely, though the site says it runs under a Commercial License.
