transparent texture problem

Postby JC1138 » Thu Dec 25, 2008 3:30 am

since its winter break now, i finally have time to fix those minor problems on my R35. so one of the problems is that the glass textures in the front light are not transparent. so i tried to fix it by replacing it with another texture. but after i did that, everything behind the glasses became invisible. i remember someone asked the same question in this forum, but i cant find that post anymore. so can someone please teach me how to fix this problem?

i tried to fix this by reloading the interior textures, but no hope =(

To fix the glasses transparency, you must detach them (select by material) from ZM, don't forget to check also the material settings (glowing enabled, possible opacity if you don't use a transparent 32 bits TGA texture with an alpha layer). Then re-build the BODY_H object.

just an update:

found a short cut to fix this problem.
since this happens only after i re-texture the front lights, i decided to use a different texture file for the front light glasses instead of using the same one as the windows. and there it goes =D

Nice work. That problem is given by the order of the objects splitted by material, the ones with transparencies go under the opaque textured ones.
