Converting chicago to MM2

Has anyone considered converting chicago to MM2? I have been wondering that, is it because it copyrighted or too many polys? lack of interest?

This idea is so old now. As far as I remember, it is impossible to do that. I think no one has tried to do that before...

Convert the MM1 Chicago city to MM2 is actually still impossible to do. This is an old idea that now has lost interest. MM1 and MM2 are so technically different, and is impossible to convert anything from MM1 to MM2, neither the add-on cars made for it; is possible to do the contrary, but MM1 has more working problems with high polygons models than MM2.
It's not a problem of too many polygons, also because seems that MM1 Chicago has less polygons than MM2 SF or London (or better, than the MC New York city conversion, that with problems works in MM2).

Someone is trying to reproduce the MM1 Chicago making a new one for MM2, but still no news about this hard project.

Now, this guy that's trying to make a Chicago for MM2 from scratch using the MM1 one as reference isn't Dummiesboy. He posted at MM2C forum his progress asking for some help; he posted also links to get the 3D model and the .ar file of what he has done.

I was helping that guy some and he wasn't converting it, he was rebuilding it.

He has made a very little progress, and it's a very hard project to do if only one person have to do it. There's no news from months, and I would say that he has canceleld it. It's more easy create a new big city than re-construct from scratch the whole MM1 Chicago.
