No way ! Except if these countries are decreased (I mean like a Micro Machines track) :D

I dunno exactly the size limit for a MM2 map but don't forget this important point, details !! Do you really think that we can make all cities/roads/builings/objects for these countries ? 8O It's really amazing to see the overall look of Classic Madness e.g. but if you look at the details, you'll have a small idea of the time which they needed to make this (more than two years). So, an hundred of hours is already needed to accomplish a map of this type, it's therefore impossible to make a country !

For a simple map with straight roads, sidewalks, grounds, with a lot of simple buildings (just textured, no 3D details), you can reach easily 2k polies ... but you must know that this "2k polies" are just the size of an only object from a detailed track such as FHR, Madness City 3, Oceany 2, Akagi and the other recently released tracks. Some of these have more than 60k polies :)

I let you guess how many polies we would have with a "simple" nation.

i see what you mean!!!!!!!

errmmm well if you make maps of the cities of britain like London has already been made so if you make all of the cities and then put them all together. And if you think about it, the map will be smaller than the citiy itself just look at the san fran. map that has loads of things missing also, the London map has loads of things missing as i live their.

so all that will need doing for buildings is boxes like they are on the main maps that come with the game. and the roads will be normal like if you can find the citys maps on google images and then you can make the cities that way. As i said before you could join up the cities to make the countrys. it does not mean you have to make the shape of the shape of the country itself all you have to do is map the cities as islands. and then join the all up with motoways.

i only say this because it would be alot easier to make "Britain"
cities
1. London - already made
2. Hull
3.Liverpool - tunnel that goes to the wirrle
4.Most of Scotland if poss. = John 'o' Groats = Lands Top/Start
5. Manchester
6. Birmingham.
8. Cornwall - most if poss = Lands End
9. Wales = Holyhead
10. Dover = wich soon u could link up france with "Britain"

wich as i say these could just be islands linked up by motoway

well, dat's a nice idea, but :-
1. will someone have the the time to do this ????
2. will mm2 be able to run this large amount if it cannot even run 20 cars ????
3. well, cities r allright, but countries ???? OMG !!!!

You are looking for another game. Its called "real life". No virtual game can support a country worth of information as real life can.

And in real life, there are a lot more cars to choose from, better rendering engine and different physics.

Colintunner, what kind of idea is this? Nobody will spend his life in making a such thing, especially for a game... MM2 has a lot of limits, no way to let work such things. Really impossible.
Only who has no idea in what means make something for a game will say similar ridiculous things...

Your idea is similar to this :

Merge all available maps to an one and only big map ? Just no way ! Your system config couldn't support that and let-alone MM2 :?

Nice idea of course but just a dream so far.

Maybe you could do like the ETS Game. You drive Across Europe but it's scaled down. (Takes around 15 minutes to drive across country). Still might be a bit much for MM2.

Yeah , I think that's probably too much for MM2.

Even if we could somehow make it easily and quickly, and mm2 didn't crash because of the map, it would run so slow that it would be painfull. I bet you would get 1FPS max, and the average would be .00002233344. MM2 is single threaded only, and who knows what other limitations it has when it comes to video cards and RAM.

Even when it comes to games that do have huge maps, such as GTA: SA and Test Drive Unlimited, it sounds like they are still smaller then what you are wanting.

MM2 never will be able to, but I don't doubt that future racing games--and consoles/PCs--will not be able to handle bigger and better cities.
