Motion Blurr in mm2?

Postby Technologyfreak » Thu Sep 17, 2009 5:09 pm

Hi,

I thought I saw someone talk about motion blurr in mm2, that this was a hidden option. Now I wanted to try it out but I can't find the topic(if it wasn't between the screenshots) anymore
does anyone know where to find it?

The old graphic engine of MM2 doesn't support motion blur or other graphic effects; it hasn't neither generated static shadows. Maybe the option that you mean is the replays one, that's not implemented in the game, but there's just its button, that's hidden, as Dummiesboy said.

If I'm right, Motion blur is a recent feature of Direct3D & co, not available for DirectX7 (MM2 API) so except Photoshop you can't add motion blur in-game (not in real time).

Is easy think that an old basic game like MM2 can't have this feature, especially because of the old version of the graphic API that this game uses, the DirectX 7, that haven't implemented features like motion blur, dynamic shadows and lights and HDR effects, features of the DirectX 9.1, the most used by the recent games.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't MM1 have shadows for things like streetlights, and trees?

Yeah, but they should be made by polygons, like the MM2 cars shadows. Both the games haven't advanced rendered shadows.
