I got really motivated when I started messing around with MM2 cars...I don't know why. I have always loved the look of the Plymouth GTX, and rarely see any models of them anywhere.
Since I always get really pissed off when working with high-poly models, I decided to keep it simple and just do texture work (since that's what I've always been good at).
Here's the GTX mapped with the blueprints I used -
I am pretty bad with getting it to look super realistic, so I did my best. Maybe a few improvements here and there, but it's just about done. All I need to do now is make the appropriate textures, make the wheels, finish up the bottom of the car, and it's done. Simplest project I've ever done...makes me want to do low/mid-poly cars more often!

Very good work, nice looking model and textures. This has to go to be finished.

I know I'm one to always cancel projects, but I PROMISE this one will get released. I never got to finish the Escort because of the hard drive failure. No motivation for making a track at the moment. But when I saw the gallery of this one particular GTX, I just got to work.
Update:
Been doing some texture work today, the ugly green you see above is not going to be included with the final release. Here's a preview of the textures so far -
I had to make the back window myself, lol.
Update 2:
Wow, it's already been that long and nobodies replied? Heh. Here's some model work along with UV mapping -
Still a bit of work to do.

Just finished fusing the two halves together. The wheel wells and the bottom of the car have been finished, I think I'm gonna use MM2s texture to texture up the bottom
I need some suggestions for colors. I am now going to make the glowing headlight/brakelight textures, I'm going to take the default non-glowing textures, make them look lit up, then put those in front of the model and probably combine those along with the FXLTGLOW, so it looks realistic.

The GTX has a set of wheels now! Also did some touch ups to the UV mapping and such.
UPDATE:
The GTX now has a 3D side mirror! It only makes sense for it to be breakable
I'm going to see how the normals look in game first before I try to play with it anymore. I applied a gradient texture to it but I'm not sure if it's really working like I want it to...lol
UPDATE 2:
Just some texture updates along with a couple fixes on the model
Oh, and while I'm at it, I might as well post another perspective I haven't shown yet -
