Well, if you want to convert from NFS 3 or 4, look at this: https://mm2df.webs.com/tutorialszone.htm

For NFS:HP 2010: https://www.mm2riva.com/t1358-how-to-con ... to+convert

If you want anothers (as there are so many to post here), go to Riva's site, register and got forums and search "How to convert a car". Easy huh? :D

Check this very good tutorial, it's mainly about modeling, but you consider only the in-game putting parts. Check also the resources in this topic. Here are placed the Riva's tutorials in his forum.
Take a look about how do this and keep training, for the first times the thing can be difficult.

I too have that question in mind. Is converting or making cars and their logos not a copyright violation?

Make a part of a game for another one, like the converting of cars models, can't be considered illegal. It's always amateur games modding and obviously non-profit done. To do is inform about the origin of the model, telling the game name from where the model comes and/or the game author (publisher, developer).
Make 3D models reproductions of real cars using their registered brands and trademark logos wouldn't be a copyright violation neither if done for money: surely all the makers of high polygons real cars models which sell them don't pay to anybody.
