Metal always deserves it's own topic.

I won't bother mentioning the classics, I'm sure you already know them. I'll just mention some modern albums/bands that I really like. They're popular though so you've probably heard of them, but.

Beyond the Permafrost by Skeletonwitch
Paracletus by Deathspell Omega
The Aura by Beyond Creation
Elvenefris by Lykathea Aflame
The Conductor's Departure by Anata
Fields of Rot by Nocturnal Breed
...and both/either album by Allegaeon

Most of these are Tech. Death Metal...so not a very diverse group genre-wise. Any that you haven't checked out, go check out on Youtube. I can give you some of my favorites songs of each of these albums if you want.

i'm not s huge DM fan but i quite like Cannibal Corpse, Death, Morbid Angel, Bolt Thrower and Possessed.

I haven't listened to much Bolt Thrower and haven't got into them, but I like all the others you mentioned.

I really like Altars of Madness, it's awesome.

cool i also like that album, do you like any trad heavy bands? like Motorhead (my fav band ever), Black Sabbath, Accept, Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Tank and Riot?

I like Black Sabbath. I like what little Iron Maiden I have listened to, I've never gotten around to checking very many of their albums (I have NoTB and DoD, and have checked out a couple of others). I'll get around to it sometime...I just have no idea when.

Oh, and I like some of Ozzy Osbourne's stuff--once again, haven't checked out everything.

The Judas Priest I have heard, I haven't cared for. I'm not sure I have ever listened to Motorhead (well I just listened to what you posted). Same for the others you listed.

Ride The Lightning is my favorite from them. I also like most of Master of Puppets lot. Kill 'em All I don't like as much overall, but there are some songs that I really like off of it.

I also like Blackened a lot from ...And Justice For All, but don't care for the rest of the album too much. Haven't listened to much else by them.

I'm a bigger fan of Megadeth.

Slayer is awesome. My favorite album would have to be Seasons in the Abyss.

I never got into Testament. I listened to most of their stuff but never really cared for any of it. Not sure why.
