What is the 3D Renderer of PS1/PSX

Postby Doof4294967296 » Tue May 14, 2013 11:50 am

Sorry, But this question is irrelevant to MM2. So I put it in the general forums. What is the 3D renderer of PS1? DirectX? Or what?

As far I know, it's OpenGL. Most of the GPU support OpenGL and it was used in old PS3s.

By the way, what you want to do with 3D renderer?

Well I'm not too sure. Maybe it is DirectX.

Wouldn't be DX, that was something specifically for PC games back then. Honestly the closest thing I can match PS1 graphics to would be a software renderer.

It's own renderer. Neither OpenGL or DirectX.. why even ask that here. Maybe ask the ePSXe developers.

I guess your right. They have their own renderer. Btw, how's the graphics of the first release of DirectX (Version 1.0)? Release Date: September 30, 1995
