Imported Cars.

Postby COOLGUY200 » Thu Jan 09, 2014 11:25 pm

Hello everyone, and I'd like to say some things about imported cars.

You see, the USA has many good cars for sale, new or used. But something about them are different in a way.

The Chevrolet Sonic, Ford Taurus, Pontiac Montana, Ford F-150, and more are good vehicles, but they don't catch my attention.

These cars below are great, but are not allowed because of our stupid government.

Nissan Silvia (S15)
Nissan Skyline GT-R (KPGC110-R34)
Vauxhall Astra
(Saturn sold them starting in 2004, but GM's 2010 bankruptcy closed the division)
and brands needs to be introduced too.
TVR
Skoda
Renault
Alfa Romeo
Peugeot
Citroen
Lancia (very important)

And countless others.

I'd just like to see interesting cars everyday.
And I mean everyday.

I think you just need to change the gas tanks on the car to US fuel. Well small cars like Renault, Peugeot, etc those cars we will never see those in the US.

well, Alfa Romeo's 8C Competizione made it to the US, and so did the Fiat/Abarth 500, so why not the others?

Ain't the government always blocks the cars importing in the US, there are also the choices of the cars makers, that aren't interested in this market. Some makers have instead made new brands appositely for the US market for some of their models normally sold in the rest of the world with the main brand (e.g., Honda for Acura and Toyota for Scion). Surely PSA group (Citroen-Peugeot) and Renault took the decision to don't sell anymore their cars in the US because of business issues and of the old bad experience in this market. The main reason of block the importing of foreign cars is surely because of the safety rules, not suitable to the European cars.
Indeed, Fiat returned in the US just because of their acquisition of the Chrysler group (great goal done by Sergio Marchionne, probably his only best thing done as Fiat CEO), now done at 100%, otherwise I bet that they never thought to return in the US. The Fiat 500 is their first model which officially said that Fiat returned in the US, and the Alfa Romeo is coming back there too with the 4C as first model. The nowadays Lancia cars are unfortunately just a rebrand of some Chrysler cars, except the Ypsilon, appositely made for the European market (it's sold with the Chrysler brand in the UK).
FYI, some exemplars of the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione were sold in the US imported by third party sellers which sell worldwide high performances supercars, so it wasn't a decision of the Fiat group. This car was produced in same plant where are built Maserati cars (it shares Ferrari/Maserati engines and mechanic), so the Ferrari and Maserati retailers in the US could have sold also some exemplars of this car, too.
Fiat 500 = Italian motorization. Franch88, MM2 eXtreme forum and website Administrator.

Well there's a rule now that the car has to be 15 years or older and it has to be road legal or meet all the safety regulations in order for you to import it from another country. Like now you're finally able to import a Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 and the price will range(depending on the condition of the car and the owner) from $10,000-$30,000. But the price could've gone up by now.

Ok, I found a R32 Skyline on Auto Trader. here's the link for it.

https://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale ... ex=1&Log=0

It actually looks like my 1st car in Gran Turismo 2. Except it was a GT-S type M or something.

But don't forget about the Nissan Silvia (S15), that one isn't allowed.

Well, in Canada luckily you see an R32 Skyline, lets say, around every week. And I know somebody who owned an R34 Skyline, though. I've never seen one, sadly.

And I never even thought about that! I've never actually seen a Silvia! :P It's sad that these kind of cars aren't in North America. I hope at least ONE comes eventually. :(

Well in gran turismo it said is the 240SX. To me it looks like it but with a light bodykit, probable a nismo kit.

Edit: Now I think it's from 96.

Well it's common to think that, since Nismo is an in-house tuner for Nissan (Like AMG for Mercedes-Benz). Lol sorry if I was mean in any way.

EDIT: A stock Silvia is what I said on my last post, this particular one from GT 5 looks like it's got a whole new (Possibly Nismo) wider bodykit.
