Why is MM1 more challenging than MM2
I've notice it while playing the game. I found it so difficult but still possible. I always choose professional difficulty and MM2 really disappointed me again. The BOTs in MM1 are way better than BOTs in MM2. I really missed that trill it gave to me then.

Physics of MM1 are more challenging than in MM2, since you can easily loose control in corners in MM1 while in MM2 they are much more arcade style. Since in MM1 cars are harder to drive, it makes winning harder.
Also, AI of MM1 looks way better, opponents are faster and smarter, while in MM2 they suck mainly in corners.
And I also think it may be related with the track itself. Chicago is more plain roads, and in San Francisco the inclined roads (combined with opps worst AI) make them suck even more. If you play in London (at least I prefer London over San Francisco) I find races a bit more challenging.

MM1 has dangerous AI for cops which destroy you before you even can finish the race. That's the difficulty.

Very. It left us without lens flares (they worked in dev builds), Instant Replay mode (it's broken in RV because Angel left it that way), it also has non working dev modes leftover from MM1 (go on CnR in MM2 and type in chat /rc edit. This was an old MM1 edit mode). There are also countless bugs that could have been fixed. The game was rushed?

Also their was roadblocks planned and the ability that you can been busted by the cops, Angel Studios left alot of good stuff out of MM2. Also MM1 was in development for two years, MM2 was in development for one year, so that's why MM1 feels more challenging and complete. I think Midnight Club Street racing is what MM2 should have felt like, challenging and more complete.

Don't forget that MM1 races were much also longer too, and they often had variety of opponents included despite there only being ten default vehicles in the game. Whereas in MM2, the races are quite short and you didn't have to do much to complete them, really.Physics of MM1 are more challenging than in MM2, since you can easily loose control in corners in MM1 while in MM2 they are much more arcade style. I believe that MM2 as a whole is a huge chunk of "What ifs". If it had been released much later, it definitely would have been able to top the prequel.
