If you want to convert it to MM2, don't export your car in 3DS but in OBJ. With the latest ZM2 version, you're able to import this format (and keep normals and UVmap right), then export is an old Z3D to open or merge it with ZM1 (ZM2 don't support MM2).

Good job so far, nice to see another project made from scratch and maybe for MM2.

If you want to improve the model, don't forget to smooth it. Like you said, the auto smooth (smoothing groups) can be enough, otherwise assign a meshmooth modifier isn't too much. Don't exceed an iteration of 2.

Keep it going !

I'm JUST about finished:

Now I just need to texture it, find imperfections, make the front wheel well, create a bottom, and then get ZM2 and do the rest there. I plan on having multiple paint jobs, but first I need to figure out a way to get the stripes on there....

Very nice and pretty quick work, the result is good. :) Other details like mirrors and handles are needed. Maybe the hood is too much bumped. The front light texture is too much bright, and would be better have textured plastic bumpers. Remove the mirrored writes on the rear part.

I know, those were temporary textures to let me see how the final result would look, and thanks for the feedback about the texture being too bright, that's the kind of stuff I need to know!

Now I just need the antenna, door knobs, bottom of the car, and all the other little details, then it's on to the dashboard and car sounds! WOOT!

Nice work! :D It does look realistic. Mke sure to chamfer in these places for better nrmals ingame. Zmod projects normals a bit differently than in 3ds max because it is a lower-level software.
