But it can be done.Unless cryogenics is perfected, it may be impossible unless you travel in several generations. Also, a lot of fuel and food would be required...seems almost impossible at the moment and probably for a number of decades at least I think (which is a pity)

Fuel? It can be done! By using starlight, in other words, solar power.Unless cryogenics is perfected, it may be impossible unless you travel in several generations. No no it cant be done by solar power

Good collection, Seahawk. I never heard the name of Kepler planet, but in-picture, they look of approximately same size. I notice that earth's non-reflected part looks like moon.

I know that its ocean, but when I tried to do a black & white effect on a earth picture, it looked much similar like moon.@Rohit: The dark part of the Earth is not like the Moon, Rohit see closely you will see ocean there also.

Solar Power, as in terms of the panels? You'd need a lot, surely, and how do you get a form of propulsion?Fuel? It can be done! @It_Is_Me: A, that, solar power. I don't also know too much. But it can be charged by the stars coming in its journey.
@Everyone: And next year (2014 AD), an Unmanned shuttle named "Vonbron" will be launched to Planet "Darwin 4". With 3 extra probes which will land on the alien planet and 1 digital message. The probes are Balboa, Newton, Davinci. It will take 64 years for the shuttle to reach there.

Totally senseless- solar propulsion in vacuum of space? You need some material substance to accelerate a space vehicle. Solar calls can only charge batteries not change speed. A rocket's motion can be explained by Newton's 3rd law of motion,
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
In case of a rocket, the high velocity exhaust gases leave from behind causing the rocket to accelerate in the opposite direction. Solar cells don't release any exhaust and obviously can't be used as a mode of propulsion in space.

I, would say Nitrogen is the way to go. Fascinating, about those space probes or whatever going into space. What interests me is, wont the scientists running this project, ahem, pass away before that reaches that planet
