Who have created the videopatcher?
You mean right the one that you've downloaded from my above post, the second one of this topic? I've said that's made by Aaro4130... What it does is edit one of the profile files.
Who have the source code?
Nobody, this game never went open source... Maybe only Microsoft still has it in its archives...

He told you that's because he needs the game source code, which isn't publicly existing, and isn't neither said if the thing was going to be possible to make... I bet that's so, in fact it's something related with the game engine.
When's possible to change/add few things in the player profile files concerning the graphic rendering options, ain't that's hard to do, for those who see it possible to make...

However, has been already stated that MM1 and MM2 running on Windows 8 or 8.1 operative systems have lag. Some workarounds have been found to attempt to have more FPS, about MM2.

I think the problem is the video card not windows 8. MM2 lags on windows 8 but I have solved the problem. I have tried some directdraw emulators and I found one to play mm2 on windows 8 without lag. Here is a link:

If the file in the first link in the forum doesnt work for you, continue read the forum and you can see more links with files. Only becauce a file works for me I am not sure if it is the best file for you. But no one of the files works for mm1 for me. I dont know if the problem is windows 8 or the video card because mm1 works fine on software mod but not on hardware mod. Please help!

This would require modification of the EXE beyond what I can do with assembly code editing. I would need to replace the functions of drawing text with a new and different way. Which in this case would just be better to re-code the game anyways to a better version

This would not require modification of the EXE.
I need only to update ddraw.dll in system 32 and systemwow64.
Who can I ask to solve my problem?

Replacing DDRAW almost never works. You're using a too old one
