OK, the city collision detection problem is practically solved (Using the visual meshes as colliders works fine in Unity, even if it maybe is not how it worked in MM3), but there is another problem now: implementing proper vehicle physics is not a walk in the park, especially with the new wheel collider in Unity 5. On Unity's asset store there is an excellent vehicle physics system, but it costs 60 USD, and I'm not willing to spend such a sum of money on something that I don't know if I will ever finish and from which I will not earn anything anyway.

In short, I have 2 options:
1: Implement myself proper vehicle physics, this will require a lot of time, and the results could be disappointing.
2: Buying the asset (provided some people are willing to donate something) and getting the job done (at the current state of MM3's formats knowledge, it would be a demo in which you can drive the cars in the cities, without any opponent or traffic for now) in a few weeks or less.
If you want to see how it behaves, here is a demo of the aforementioned vehicle physics asset.

Simply because I wanted to see it happen, I converted the USD to euros and rounded a dollar up and donated the whole amount. Have fun with it.

8O 8O 8O WOW, Thank you very much! I'll proceed as soon as possible to get cars working in Unity with the asset!

It's as simple as replacing the model from a prefab. I own the asset and have for a long time. It'll take you ten minutes to get a few cars up and running without major tuning modifications.

I just made a build in which you can drive cars. Cars are still in a very preliminary stage (no sound yet, as I have to decode the cars' sound script file, and the handling is not yet the same as the original MM3 one, also there are some shader bugs). You can download the build here. (Requires "Data" folder from Build 1)

Isn't possible download the file, I've tried with 3 browsers but the download button of any Build doesn't work with none... What have you done to be able to download at least the Build 3, Andy?

I found the problem: the monthly bandwith limit of 10GB on my Box account has been reached. I'll upload the build elsewhere.
EDIT: here is the build 3. I'll re-upload also the Data folder.

Dropbox has no bandwidth limit. :)

Actually it has, but indeed it's much higher. (20GB per day for free accounts, as specified here) Probably I'll upload there future files.
EDIT: Anyway, I reuploaded the data folder here.

Works good now, cars have decent tuning. Waiting for that sound and skybox.
