It's so good to see this project is going great so far. I can't test it at the moment but I will as soon as I can.

Are the 3D model files and textures the same of the original Xbox game or did you converted them for more known file formats? It would be pretty cool to make a few mods for it once it's released. Anyways, I'm looking forward to see more updates. :)

The file formats are mostly the same (for the cities they are the same, cars textures have been converted to more usable formats (from .ccds to .dds and .png)). For modding, after the game is complete, I can add support for some other formats (some ad hoc format for mods or even support for MM2 formats)

PNG isn't the best for the system, I'd suggest converting everything to the TGA route. Unity automatically converts all textures to DDS regardless when running them.

PNG is only used for GUI/menus (easier transparency management), everything else is DDS.

When it's done (I'm trying to replicate the exact MM3 car handling, and it's not easy, in MM3 cars never spin out of control while driving very fast on asphalt, no matter how hard you turn, it looks like some kind of ESC / artificial direction control / whatever)

I don't know how far you've progressed on the collision physics, but I wanted to make sure my favorite hobby wasn't impossible. That is, make sure you can drive on the walls in the subway! Very important... :P

--EDIT--

Oh yeah, if the car is powerful enough, you can do a loop in the subway!
We're all fortunate you started this. Such a bummer the original release was cancelled.

I cannot believe this... MM3 is getting ported over to the PC! Amazing! I have been wanting to play this on my PC ever since I found out about the game for the XBOX. I still cruise around on the XBOX version every now and again, but playing MM3 on the PC would make the game feel right at home, considering the two previous releases were for PC. :P

I'm not really sure if wouldn't it be against the copyrights, but did you ever considered to share this conversion on Gamejolt or IndieDB? It would be great to have more people knowing about this awesome work, and if necessary you could change the name of the game and remove any car brands.
