Thanks for the second beta, going to check it out, surely it's already ready for the release.
The Beast version looks really cool with this color, great work. :)

Nope, it's not ready for release, as tuning hasn't been finished, damage smoke isn't in the right spot, camera view isn't fine tuned...and of course, the rest of the colors are missing.

Yes, it's not ready for the release, or maybe I meant that about 3D model and textures related things, except the not included paintjobs in this beta.
And yes, is needed to do what the Readme says: the near chase camera needs to be a bit farer and lower, and the far chase camera a bit more far (optional); damages smoke position has to be on the front part of the hood and a bit higher, damages setting is ok and very nice damages texture; handling is ok, while maybe the performances have to be lowered.
The dashboard is really nice, ok its camera. Really nice sounds and vehicle showcase. Ok all the lights. Maybe is good increase a bit the distance of the car view in the vehicle selection menu, it's the UIDist value in the .info file.

I have a new beta for everyone to try out.

Code: Select all

MM2X is being stupid and corrupting the post if I try to make it a link.

It's not an "official" beta, it's the one I've been working on with the MOST RECENT edits. It now has all of the paintjobs as .TEX files as well.

At the rate of how things are going, the GTX could be released anytime this week. I would say Friday is my personal deadline!

IT'S COMING, PEOPLE! BE PREPARED FOR THE MOST EPIC MM2 ADD-ON EVER!!! 8O

Update 1/5/2012, 8:15am

I will be working on getting the hardtop texture replacement pack ready for release. And then of course, the custom paintjob documentation/files need to be ready for release. =D

Tested the new beta. Now the chase cameras are ok, and the damages smoke position is correctly placed, but is better make it a bit up on the hood, actually it's too much down it. Maybe the tuning still needs the changes that you plan to do, but however at the end you've to make a copy of the .vehcarsim file calling it vpgtx_opp.vehcarsim. There are some files useless for the game that increase the .ar file size, so delete that .pkg_off file, the .bak file and the .txt file from the Geometry folder.

About the link problem, that happens because of the "!" symbols present in it. Then, only one of those symbols is enough for the car .ar file, and two for the hardtop paintjobs patch.

Whoops. Those were some junk files I didn't clean up, I'll be sure they don't make it into the final release!

Tuning...well, I honestly cannot tune for the life of me. I'm satisfied with the way it is right now, and I'm not really much of a tuner anyways, hell I don't even really care about tuning. The car is fun to drive and that's all that matters to me.

About the "!" symbols thing, yeah yeah, I always put a lot of them in front. But it's just a silly habit of mine, lol.

Yup! Hope you guys enjoy it! Next up is The Beast, which probably won't take very long.

UPDATE:

The start of something very, very beautiful.

Any idea why my custom shadows for the blower & tail aren't showing up? They show up in the showroom but not in game. :(

UPDATE 2:

***THIS IS NOT IN-GAME CONTENT***

I was wondering what you guys thought of a concept similar to this:

Image

I'm not quite sure how this would work considering the color of the car varies upon each paintjob, but the blower is huge! How could you not see it in the dash cam? :P

Image

And then we have case B. What if I removed the hood and left only the blower? Would this be more realistic and work better?

Let me know what you guys think.

If we were to pick Case A with hood shown, we then need the edit the FoV (Field of View) of the game so the road, building, etc., can blend with the hood zooming out if you know what I mean. IMO btw.

But if that ain't possible then I'd suggest Case B. More simple, compact and not much effort has to be put up on, neither with coloring the hood.
I don't know how its not possible seeing custom shadows in-game but you can on showroom. Maybe check the texture names or something?

Other than that great stuff with the Beast! When I first saw the plate I thought it said "Like a Boss" lol. But my eyes are messed right now so I cant really tell lmao. Need to go see the doctor -.-"

I would choose the case B if you want it more realistic.
