I enjoy sharing progress with people, that's how I work. But obviously it's never a good idea because if I DARE cancel anything for whatever reason, I just get shit on by everyone.

I see how it is.

I do agree that it is always a bummer to see a project get canceled, and sometimes frustrating, but you have to remember that it is the author that is putting his free time into it and his choice as to whether he finishes it or cancels it. If CarLuver69 doesn't want to continue it, then that is his choice and we should respect that. Maybe he has canceled more than he has released, but he still has tried many times to make things for the community and put a lot of work into them. And I think that is more then some of the people criticizing him here have done. Not to come off as a jerk, but CarLuver69 has actually modeled things, which can take a lot of work, and Stan and Triple_X have only converted cars (as I remember).

I've attempted at modeling a lot of tracks. And to make a high detail, large track, is an insane amount of work, which is why all of mine are either incomplete and empty, or very small. If you haven't tried to model a track as big as something I've done, or something Sajmon14 has done and fill it full of custom objects and custom textures, then you most likely don't understand how much work it is.

I agree. Compared to track making or car modeling, conversions are nothing. All you gotta do for conversions are extract the model, objects, get ingame, done. Some tune editing and sounds, but that's easy as pie. Track modeling and car modeling takes lot of effort and time because you have to do nearly everything from scratch, including the textures, etc. A lot of people don't know what that is like because they have never modeled a thing in their lives. Modeling takes a lot of effort and time of the people, and they don't have to do it. So, you all should be happy CarLuver even attempted something like this, because I'm positive almost none of you other guys will even try.

Chill out guys.
This is just a game. A very fun one by the way.
If he want to quit, it's ok.

HR i totally agree with you but it's really frustrating how people are like "Go Big or Go home" and they end up going home , why not test yourself with lower projects and then slowly grow bigger ... anyway my opinion and i've done 3D modeling so i know how it is ;)

If I could choose to have a low quality rushed addon, or nothing at all, I'd choose not having anything. I was interested in this project because it was being made with care and quality consideration. It's a shame to see it die, but at least it died with some dignity. That's all I have to say.

I did test myself with lower projects. Clearly I am capable of making these projects, but it's not the fact that I can't do it - I am stressed out with the workload and the fact I'm not willing to continue the project due to the fact it's going to take a very, very long time and TO ME, it's not worth it in the end. I have to move on to other things, simple as that. I need the practice, and if I want to make it in the game industry, I can't keep doing low-poly work in MM2. And this whole "Go Big or Go Home" thing is something that pisses me off - it surely isn't the way I look at my work. Not one bit. I put care into my work, and once I stop caring about my work, it turns into crap and that's when things go downhill. Which is exactly what happened to this project.

I really agree with Piau9000, why fight over something that's done. And moreover, I'm quite sure that not only StanOfGB or Triple_X are the ones who're feeling disappointed. Surely CarLuver69 would also be feeling a little sad for quitting MM2 modding. Even I feel bad that I can't get another track to crash my netbook again and see a BSOD. So please, don't criticize. And the rest, look at the post above mine.

I already did release a "beta", it's just a giant INST with flat colors.
