So the parents don't let go their sons to the school! 8O Because, there are these methods. :? I don't like this! :(
But, at least in America there's a mandatory school for first years? Possibly public?

I am home schooled and find it much better than school. :D
I haven't been to school since I was 7 and am 16 now (almost)!

It means you can learn things you would not normally learn in school (I did archeaology) and concentrate on doing thing you enjoy (like geography for example).
It also meant that I caould take some of my exams early so it is easier now I am older.

Some people think I am home schooled because my parents are religious or be worried I might be badly influenced, but really it was because I learnt better at home than at school. :D

Dude, I'm home schooled too :D. I love it, i have 6 siblings (9 - 29) All have been home schooled from day one. Much better then Public school. Well like today, i got done with school at 11ish, then went to work with my dad (hes a self-employed Contractor). We put up 3 windows, and smashed some walls :D, i could do none of that is i was in school.
It's cool to know that there are some home schoolers here! :D

I wish I could be homeschooled. But my parents are too busy to do that for me. Imagine, no homework. That's the best perk.

I'm Homeschooled. Not sure how it happened but when the only school you can go to (until junior high) has lice problems (or had), has mean kids, and has the neighbors that hate your guts (and one of the same neigherbors drives a bus for that school), it's best not to go there.

Plus, people who are homeschooled can have their parents slow down and help them for a while. Normal school just keeps going, and you lag behind.

I want to go back to the quick school days. Why did I go to this because of wanting to learn more!? I must have hit my head...

Considering all the careers I might take all I would need to know is math, english and science. Come to think of it, those were my weakest before....

I never tried very hard before though. I did everything as fast as possible. Now it's like try or fail. The real school of this video school that I do has people leave quite frequently because of all the work/difficulty of it. And also because it doesn't offer Football and is quite strict on what you can and can't wear (no uniforms though).

No uniforms? You are L-U-C-K-Y!!!!!!! 8O 8O We don't have a uniform; we have an enhanced dress code, which is pretty much a uniform. Why not uniform? My scandalous school doesn't want to use money for it; all they care about is money. Public schools for profit!?

Nah! You beat me. All is in-topic... about the homeschool.
However I don't like this method, sure you don't have a good teaching.

Well, it depends on how smart your parents are...if they have a Ph.D in physics, they probably would be good at teaching you, in math and science at least.

You can just work out of books, and the internet has tons of info. :)

My mum is good at English and my dad is good at maths (my worst subject) so it balances out.

I am currently doing 2 GCSEs (standard grades) and already have 2 which I did last year. :D

school is where you get your social life, homeschool is where you get the "nerd" or prep tag. i hated emelentary school a lot, i wanted to be homeschooled, not for the reasons you kids do, i wanted slack off and do nothing, but then i would have missed highschool, thats where i became the king of it all, everyone knew me and my friends. we did memorable things like racing powerwheels jeeps through the halls last day of school, donuts in the parking lot ontil the tires went flat, yelling durring classes, making coc riding cowboys in woodshop and putting them up everywhere. i didnt like class oir learn anything, actually, i didnt even graduate, but i had fun.

in all, you kids missed out on the best part of life.
