First, I wrote this tutorial on the mm2c forum. Franch88 said that I should write the tutorial in the mm2x forum, too.

Why this tutorial?

MM2 is created for driving races in SF or London. Now some people ask, how to do a simple race in your map? I will tell you

how. We will make a simple circuit race for simple city.

1. Download checkpoint editor

First you must do the tutorial from Maxoff: https://forum.mm2c.com/viewtopic.php?t=11617
If you haven't got simple city then download it here: https://www.mm2x.com/hqtm-team/pliki/mm2ct_manual.7z
Download Checkpoint Editor from here: https://midtownmadness2.de/downloads/dow ... kpoint.zip

2. A circuit race

Run checkpoint editor and ZModeler 1.07. Open simple city in ZModeler.
Go on the "X" with the mouse there in the middle of the top view. Here red.

That's the point 0,000000 0,000000 0,000000. You can look at the bottom of ZModeler, where you are.

Now go back to the checkpoint editor and wrote in these three boxes "0" down. Then click "N

Thanks a lot for this interesting tutorial.

A stupid question, can I add races and CP on a track without any pedestrians, cops, traffic cars (like my latest tracks) ?

Very nice tutorial Peter, thanks to have posted here too. :)
In past I've tried to use that program, but I don't have got real results, and the use of only the Notepad to make races files is the best, but hard one.

I think yes, the races files to work aren't connected to the .bai file, like for the cop cars. If I'm not wrong there are some maps with PSDL terrain without roads and intersections object with some races.

You can also make checkpoints using placing of cops I have done that and it works!

Indeed, you can easily place objects for the cop cars in MM2 City Toolkit and then use the values of thier positions for the checkpoints, the start and the finish lines in a race. Just copy them from the saved .aimap file.
In this way will be way easy make races and you'll save a lot of time, but is better make a lot of tests after.

If you want opponents in your race your city must be made mostly in PSDL and must have working traffic and pedestrians; the same is for the cop cars.
