Instant Replay?

I've seen alot of evidence of an Instant Replay feature that was going to be in MM2. I was planning to try getting it in game, but I don't know anything about it. I'd like to know if anyone knows about this, because it could be in one of my future mods.

This is probably old news, but if you know anything, it would be a great help if you know anything

Well you may have to reprogram mm2 to get it to work. I never even knew about it.

Would be a nice idea to have a replay system in MM2. But I'm thinking it's impossible.

Instant replay system would be awesome, but I think its non-existant for this game. Imagine where the game would save the file, for how long it should record and from when. Unless youre talking about the timed races, it shouldnt be feasible to record every moment.

Maybe, what youre refering to is special camera angles....but then, how do they capture the same replay from the 2 or more different angles??? Hmmmm......maybe dual monitoring system? Other players?.....I dont know.

But I would like it if someone could make a tutorial on how to tweak the camera settings because I dont know what half of the values mean.

You have to re-program the game, thing that nobody has succeeded to do, as I know. Insert a complex feature like that in a game that hasn't neither the bases for the implementing is pratically impossible.

The replay system is there. I just read an interview that said MM2 had a replay feature, but was left out because of some bugs, and they didn't have time to fix them. This could mean that they also didn't have time to remove it from the game engine. I also looked in the widget.cvs file in the TUNE folder of mm2core.ar, and found existing buttons for it. Then I looked in the menu.cvs file in the TUNE folder, but didn't find an instant replay menu, so maybe it just needs added. I'm not saying that this could be possible, but you never know...

It's an interesting discover this, but seems that there are just some traces of the implementation of the instant replay, like the buttons positions for the menu.
If there was this feature in MM2, it was a more evolved game in this aspect, giving the possibility to make cool gameplay videos.

Yeah but you never know how much code there is for this feature in the exe.

Hmm, I'm not having much luck. The button won't appear on the main menu. However, the race records button was re-positioned to another place that made sense:

So something happened, but not what I intended. I've set the new menu data to have an ID of 10, and the corresponding buttons are set to 10 too.

It's possible that they could have removed it from the game engine, but if anyone would like to look at the data, I could PM it to you, and give you more information then.
