Conversion Contest (7/29/09)

Hi Everyone!

I'm making a little contest.

Rules:

You must pick a car between (7/29/09) - (8/15/09).
The contest begins today and ends 8/30/09;
You can start converting anytime you like;
Please show the car you picked, and the WiP on your topic;
You may change your car, buy obey the start and end date;
The vehicle must work in-game, can be a motorcycle, truck,etc;
Do not post mean or hurtful comments to the other converters with the contest;
You must send a PM to me and say you are participating in this contest;
No poly limit, But it will have to work in-game of course;
You must have permission to convert the model;
The limit of cars you can do is 2.

Notes:

*There is no prize;
*If you need to contact me, you can do it by PM, MSN, or EMail;
*The public will be able to vote also;
*There will be 3 places, best, middle, ok;
*You cannot vote for your own project.

A contest where we enter something we didnt make? What is to be judged then? If its converting skills, then automatically Riva and Franch win.

It will be judging how well its converted. Like the tuning, etc. Its not really converting skills. And we don't even know if Riva or Franch will enter.

Sound a nice contest, I hope that you've organized it well and you know what to do with it. About the quality of the vehicle conversion, are meant only the 3D model and the textures conversion?
I don't know if I'll partecipate with one of my planned cars conversions, I want to see the partecipation before: if there will be a good number of partecipants, about 6 or 8, and they're mainly new converters, probably I won't partecipate, because as Silent1Unknown says, I would win, and the same is for Riva.

Well Franch, You've released many cars and you have good experience! Who knows. Im not even sure they're 8 converters... Well I put no poly limit, so it should be a good model.

I meant, will you judge only the car conversion quality (only 3D model and textures) or also the other features like tuning, sounds, dashboard (if present), vehicle showcase, etc., in few words, all the features of a complete MM2 vehicle? In this way the voting can be too hard.
In a such contest would be better judge only the visible quality of the converted model, and give special votes about the quality of all the lights, the shadow and of other particular features like the indicator lights on reverse gear and also 3D moving wipers.
Probably most of the partecipants will care more about the car model converting, the tuning and the sounds. Anyway, let's see how the things will go.

Maybe you should start another car for this contest because you've already started this Saleen.

I dunno yet if I'll join this contest (depends the participants). It will be a good idea to be judge for this contest however.

I think this should only be judged on sounds, tuning and dashboard, because anybody could get an amazing model to convert for this. It'd be better if we judge the things that make the car fun to drive, other than how high poly and accurate the 3D model is.

I could be one of the judges of this contest, but before let's see how goes the thing, if there will be people that will partecipate. Then, isn't still decided the way and what judge. Better don't let everyone vote, because in such kind contests is only the contest lanched who should do that.
Brian is right about that, but the judging of the 3D model and the textures has to be about the conversion quality.
