Merging PSDL

Postby dummiesboy » Sun Sep 06, 2009 2:07 am

I'm having a problem merging 2 PSDL objects with MM2CT. I made a small test psdl file, with 1 polygon, to see if it will work right. Well, when I'm positining the second PSDL, I see it, but when I tell it to merge, it dissapers. It also isn't in MM2. However, it I view sepratly it in MM2CT, I can see it. :? What am I doing wrong?

I'll have to solve this problem if my new idea will work out.

Well, now I have them merged, and everything shows up right in MM2CT, but the new block doesn't show up in MM2... Can anyone help?

I'm not making a new city, I'm adding a PSDL block to the default San Francisco.

BTW, it is underground. Under other PSDL blocks.

you cant really do that. it wont work unless you take out a building and make a tunnel to it. :(

Well, I discovered that the subways of london are called ROADN. MM2CT doesn't support this. I guess my idea won't work. :(

I don't know. I'm not that good with city editing. Basicly, I am making a subway for San Fransisco. The BART. It will only work if I make new PSDL blocks under the existing ones. The method I used for the tunnel to the bay bridge took long enough as it was, so making full subway system is beyond what I could do using that method...

A subway in SF could be a bit strange in SF (due to the hills, in some places you'll need to create many stairs to access to the subway), even if it really exist
But you could create a train over Soma (like in MM1), I think it will be easier and cooler

The BART is real. And it only runs through the eastern part. And the part that it would run through in the game is all underground.

Isn't possible make it all in PKG? Is needed to edit the PSDL or add a new part to make an entrance? The tunned is all in PKG and the train is a moving object, like it's made for the boats.
Well, I discovered that the subways of London are called ROADN. MM2CT doesn't support this. I guess my idea won't work. :(
Maybe with MM2CT is possible make the ROADN road parts; they should be the roads without the sidewalk but with traffic cars (they're trains in the case of the London underground path). Or, this could be done changing the roads type using the PSDL Viewer. It's too hard to say. :?

I can't make it all of the subway in PKG. Remember the PSDL block issue? I can't make any PKG object go off a PSDL block without falling through it.

Also, the train objects are made using PATHSET objects. Not traffic cars.

Ah yeah, there's the PKG object PSDL block assignation problem, where if the object isn't close enough to a PSDL part or it's not assigned to the right part, there's the no bound issue.
Also, the train objects are made using PATHSET objects. Not traffic cars.
Yeah, I know this. There are three phatset types for three way to move an object, one for the train and two for the boats. You've explained them in a post.
But because of this, why is used a PSDL road ROADN part for the London underground path? Apparently there's no need of it. It's because to don't have that no bound issue?
