Finding polygon count of a car model in MM1

Postby Gafaddict » Sun Jul 18, 2010 10:03 pm

Is there any way to find out the polygon count of a car made for Midtown Madness 1? In MM2 you can load the vehicle into HQTM-Team's MM2 Vehicle Viewer and you'll get a poly reading; is there a similar program or method for MM1 cars?

Look who's back. :P From a topic on MM2 Riva, CarKing said, "MM1 can only support 3000 polygons".

I'm referring to finding a specific count on any given model.

Zac, you haven't exactly got what Gafaddict is asking. Good question. Well, in fact there isn't a program like the MM2 vehicle Viewer to know how many polygons an MM1 car add-on has. The only way is import the model in ZModeler, but that's not impossible because of how are made the MM1 add-ons .ar files. If the release author has specified that in the Readme file is good, and I guess that's the only possible way. Sincerely isn't a really important info to give since most of the cars add-ons for MM1 have low polygons models with less than 3000 polygons, and they can't be more than this; in MM2 it's needed to have an idea of how a car add-on can work in the game and in a system if it's detailed.

I thought you were asking about the poly limit, so you need to know how to find a MM1 car model polygon count? There isn't any program like this for MM1, as I know of, as Franch says, you will need to import it into ZM, pretty easy answer. ;)
