Upcoming Need For Speed game (11/15/2011) is called "The Run". There is just one complete storyline, one big race: Get from San Francisco to New York to save your own life by escaping from some Mob/Mafia. (We can do that storyline in MM2 Lol!).
From Wiki:
The game is described as "An illicit, high-stakes race across the country. The only way to get your life back is to be the first from San Francisco to New York. No speed limits. No rules. No allies. All you have are your driving skills and sheer determination as you battle hundreds of the world's most notorious drivers on the country's most dangerous roads."
In The Run, players will participate in an "underground world of illicit, high stakes racing," in a race from San Francisco to New York, with stops through Las Vegas, Denver, Detroit, and many other locations. The cops aren't the only ones after the player though, as the player "blows across borders, weaves through dense urban traffic, rockets down icy mountain passes and navigates narrow canyons at breakneck speeds."
Usually the NFS trailers/gameplay are a little exaggerated, but this still looks very interesting, better than "Undercover".

Indeed it does look better than Undercover, plus The Run uses the Frostbite engine, which is what the upcoming BF3 is using for too.
Really keen for this racing game, it'll be the best out of its franchise. Apart from Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed in my opinion.

i guess you've only played racing games, those are called cutscenes it doesn't matter that you have to touch buttons , and are called cutscenes cuz they are recorded and it's not actual gameplay
"A cutscene is a sequence in a video game over which the player has no or only limited control, breaking up the gameplay and used to advance the plot, present character development, and provide background information, atmosphere, dialogue, and clues. Cutscenes can either be animated or use live action footage"

I'm not liking this game from what has been showed so far. It's not a real NFS game, this series is now gone since some years, only with Hot Pursuit (2010) has been done a really nice return to the origins, also if with some things similar to Burnout Paradise. However, is pretty known that the NFS is an EA brand that indicates its racing/driving games, and they can be of different types, like seen with Shift and Shift 2 Unleashed (really valid products, anyway).
From the E3 gameplay video, is showed too much few gameplay, the game is too much piloted, it tell you what will happen and where to drive, the action is hilarious, the scenes are really surreal (the traffic cars blows up under the helicopter shots and your car gets just some damage, there's too much drift in curves). The QTE (Quick Time Events), are cut scenes (are you who's wrong, RacingFreak) with moments outside the car where the games tells to the player which buttons press and when press them to do an action, like the character jumps and glasses breaking attempts; was much better make them all as cut scenes to watch, what's so good with pressing a button only in the way that the game tells you? The EA wants to make a racing game or an interactive movie with exaggerated Hollywood-like scenes? More, seems that the EA Games wants to kinda copy the really promising Driver San Francisco, but with having not good results.
This game uses the great FrostBite 2 engine, made by DICE for the incoming Battlefield 3, but in it it's much better looking than from the video of this NFS game, the graphic looks like the other Black Box games, with not really realistic lights effects. Probably it has been a lot reduced to be compatible with the now old consoles hardware...
This will be the first NFS game since Underground that I won't buy, from the Black Box comes now out only mediocre games of this series... This risks to be a fail like has been with the really bad Undercover. Also, the PS3 version is going to have 7 exclusive cars, another hating marketing action...
