MM1 slow response

Postby Diatosta » Thu Nov 01, 2012 11:20 am

So I know that MM1 was made for win 98 and at XP and above (I have win 7), it wont respond to the controls immediatly (press right arrow and half a second it turns, its annoying). So, it there any way to make it more responsive, like MM2?

Thanks in advance.

I had this issue on my dual boot of Windows XP. Unfortunently I never discovered what was causing it. Did you try installing the XP patch from the official website?

Yes, its already installed.

I think it has something to do that windows 98 had direct hardware response, while in xp and above, it passes first through OS.

maybe, you've got a pre-render frames option enabled.
I've seen this option with Nvidia drivers. Basicly it allows the videocard to render (i.e.) 30 frames and then respond to the input. This results in a lag of 30 frames.

I don't know why they would implement such a thing, but maybe it's worth checking you graphic driver settings :)

Solution that worked for me:
1) Go to your basement/whereever you put used stuff.
2) Look for your dad's Win9x PC.
3) (Re-)install Win98, and play!
