Introduction
Midtown Madness 2 Anim Viewer came along as me and CarLuver69 were talking about hidden dev tools/ones we cannot get working. I managed to get testart.exe working.
Testart.exe:
This tool is a launcher for it, it also includes "sharecodes". So you can share your animation combination on this topic or with friends.
BETA 1 ONLY : This tool only works with MM2 Beta 1 Animations. It INCLUDES all of them. Just extract this tool and run AnimViewer.exe and enjoy!
AnimViewer.exe (C) 2012 Aaro4130, testart.ext (C) 1999 Angel Studios

I'll start out with one. Here's an unused one, a man giving the finger after getting up from a dive. I LOL'd at this very hard when I saw it.

Very nice tool, great work with in having those developers tools working.
Once launched the animation viewing the little Banks window needs to be higher enough to let show also the Pipe and Animation buttons; initially took me a while to find those respective windows as the above screenshot shows.
This other animation is funny too, don't remember to have seen it in-game: 1366512083|-628479364|639674130 (pedanim_womgr2s2.anim file).
Would be possible let use these unused animations of Beta 1 and include them in MM2 Revisited 5.1 patch, Dummiesboy?

Yeah I saw that one, the woman giving the "up your's" gesture. No wonder they weren't included.
Anyway, I'll have to look more into it later. I glanced at the CSV file that controls animations, and they are listed in there. If I can't add them, maybe I could replace one of the two animations per model you see ingame.

Well I'm looking closer at them. And I see the reason they don't show up ingame.
Code: Select all
GROUND_STANDL,pedanim_mangr2st,1,44,0,0,0,0,STAND
GROUND_STANDL2,pedanim_mangr2s2,1,44,0,0,0,0,STAND
GROUND_STANDR,pedanim_mangr2s3,1,44,0,0,0,0,STAND
GROUND_STANDR2,pedanim_mangr2s4,1,44,0,0,0,0,STAND
the s2 and s4 animations are ones you don't see ingame, and both of those are the #2 animations for standing up, left and right. The game doesn't use them. In a case like this, I could only replace the used one with an unused one. May have to do that.
EDIT: Or not... the game crashes if I tell it to use s2 instead of s, and absolutely nothing changes if I replace the s .anim file with the s2 one. I don't get it.

Well then. Keep trying. Something is bound to change.
