You need a correct and verified setup for MM2 which installs on correct location. To fix the Original CD, There are two ways.
1) MM2 XP Compatibility if you have mm2 on correct location i.e. "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Midtown Madness 2". Click here to get it.
2) If XP Patch will not work then you use my exe replacement. After downloading it extract and replace midtown2.exe in the directory. Get it here.

Hope you understand and it work for you :)

The official MM2 patch, called Windows XP and Nvidia/Intel chipsets compatibility patch, can't be installed if the game hasn't been already installed, obviously. In this case the game isn't installed, there are just its files put in a folder. For that message seems that there's some missing file needed for the game, it asks to re-install it so to have all the required files.
Did you deleted something from it? From the short bar results that you have lot of files in the folder, how come?

PS: RohitXL5, your signature is huge, please change that image. You should too, Seahawk...

Franch, Am I allowed to give him a link to download the full game MM2?

To SEAHAWK : Why do you have so many unnecessary files in your MM2 Folder? It can be a factor to cause errors too. For the mean time, Copy again the files of the original MM2 and make sure no files are actually missing.

You're signature is still huge. Resize it. Probably about 400x150.
