how would i go about doing this

someone on a mm1/mm2 facebook group posted some shots of a car being painted for mm1 or mm2. I have no idea how to paint cars in mm1 or mm2. do i have to use zmodeller or is there a better more acurate program to paint cars or as they say skins!!

Hey man, guess you are talking about these

I used Paint.NET to do the skinning on them.
