Thank you hungarymate!

Please, can anyone tell me how can I make that animated windscreen wipers, like the ones on Renault Trafic?

It's something not easy, and it's also laborious to make.
Essentially, the wipers have to be copied many times and rotated manually to create their movement positions. Then all the wipers uses transparent textures for the animation frames where only one frame for each wiper copy is visible, and this only for raining weather, with the other weathers they're all invisible except the stopped position wiper. You can help yourself by looking at a vehicle that uses them, like this bus.

Thank you, but there is still a question I did not understand: after your answer I investigated and I know there is a suffix for the raining textures, but, if I but the same suffix in all the wiper frames, they will not move, they will just be all visible. How can I make the animation after that?

I know you want this to be awesome and all, but aren't animated wipers just a bit overboard? I mean how many people look at the front of the car while driving, and can't see where they're going? Just IMO, the car might be done sooner without wipers.

For that you need to name the textures as: <texturename>-0001_fa.tga
<texturename>-0002_fa.tga
<texturename>-0003_fa.tga .... and so on.
You need to make multiple wipers as if they were moving.

At a time only one wiper out of all is assigned to the black portion of the texture and rest all are assigned to the transparent pixels in the same texture.
In the second image, -0002_fa.tga, second wiper gets visible and rest all are on the transparent portion and so on...

Yeah, in the car itself it's a bit useless detail, but the best thing is the dashboard animation. When it's in rainning mode, if you drive a car with working wipers on the dashboard camera it's so cool! My car has a 16:9 dash, that I think it's a cool dash, and if it has working wipers it would be awsome.

Thank you e-cobra, I'll try it :)

Yes, that would be awesome if you did that. :D (And I don't give 'Very Happy' faces that often )

Well... thanks :)

BTW, all wipers textures are equal or between them there is invisible textures (eg: 0001 is transparent, 0002 is colored, 0003 is transparent, 0004 is colored...) to make the other wipers invisible?

I do, always dude. Yes Im crazy.

Looking forward with the wipers though.

You've to make many wipers together in the main body of the car like this:
Image

No, textures aren't made that way. Make something like this:
Image
[Don't write 1,2,3... :) ]

Now name this texture as <texturename>_fa.tga without -0001 part. This will be the texture used to UV map the wipers in Zmodeler, you'll assign all the wipers from the body to this single texture only.
Now for UV mapping, select the wiper with number 1 and map it to the black square in the top left corner. Map the number 2 just next to it, and all the rest of them, just like that, to their respective areas on the texture.

Now all your images will be like these:
<texturename>-0001_fa.tga
Image
<texturename>-0002_fa.tga
Image
<texturename>-0003_fa.tga
Image
<texturename>-0004_fa.tga
Image
...till the last one.

Oh, I got it!

Looks really intresting, and so the dashboard textures are made in a simiar way, but each texture have the complete dash and the wipers in one position. After that, it will show the multiple textures like a animation. Well, looks not so hard to make, and t's a great addon. Thank you e-cobra and Franch88. :)

Hello all. I asked for help to Jelly with tuning and some improvments to the 3D model, soon it's finished!

Unfortunately, I'm not sure if I will make that cool wipers I talked, I tryed some days ago and it's really hard to make them in the right positions.

Sounds good. The animated wipers can well be avoided, IMO. It's just a tedious work to do, and I think that it turns out better when you're building the car 3D model.

Have to say I agree with Franch on that one :)
