No sound in cracked MM2

I have a DELL Monitor with no speakers, so I have two speakers connected by plug, but when I play MM2 there is no sound at all except the music and the weird noise heard when your car comes off the ground, I am using the cracked version of MM2 by someone called 'Leechinghell', anyway the intro video shows MYTH instead of the default Microsoft and
Angel Studios Logos. Could it be some incompatibility with plug in speakers or something?

First of all, you are goina find 'cracked' isn't a popular word around here.
Second, the Myth screne is normal.

You don't have incompatibility, I think you don't have the sound files in the first place. If you're set on saving cash, find a better file. Because its over 14 years old, not because I condone potentially illegal activity, here's what I used when my peviously working installation got messed up.

I know that exists a distribution of MM2 cracked by Myth, one of the many games cracking teams (it shouldn't exist anymore now). Probably it has a customized installing setup, maybe packed all in one file, so totally different than how's in the original game disc.
About the sounds missing problem, it seems to be typical of this release. You should have a file called setup.bat in the game main folder, where there's the Midtown.exe file. Run it and let all the operation complete, so after you should get all the game sounds.

I do, but this happens,

Fatal error: file myth.pak does not exist or can't be opened!
'replwavs' is not recognised as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.
Could not find C:\Program Files <86>\Angel Studios\Midtown Madness 2\*.wav
Could not find C:\Program Files <86>\Angel Studios\Midtown Madness 2\replwavs.exe
Could not find C:\Program Files <86>\Angel Studios\Midtown Madness 2\myth.pak

myth.pak and replwavs and *.wav are missing!

Do you have the Myth's release of the game? What you've downloaded, in few words. The myth.pak file, a kind of archive, must be there with the all the rest.
If not, download the file given by Storm_Sullivan from the above post and install the game from it.

It happened on the installer I had and Storm_Sullivan's installer, they are the same installers

I'm using that as I speak, actually, cause I upgraded to Windows 7. Did cmd.exe open and process a bunch of files, namely .wav? It should. If it did not or if you closed it prematurely, that would cause a problem.

However, my graphics are all messed up, almost certainly by Windows 7. There doesn't happen to be a patch, does there?

If you have a Nvidia geforce Graphics card you can find a patch on the Midtown Madness Archive

I now have an ISO of the game (not MYTH) which as well has no sound whatsoever.

Fixed now. Tried several things so I don't know which one worked.

Its odd though, my sound works from the same download I gave you. Its not the plug-in speakers, definately, cause most people have them. All other sound files work except the MM2 sounds? If so, check MM2 audio settings, and beyond that, unless you bypassed the cmd.exe step in the set-up, I don't know why the link I gave you isn't doing anything.

This is really weird, I tried another screen that had built in speakers and it still doesn't work, yet the sounds work on the laptop. Sadly I can't use the laptop because it is broken now.

Edit: Strangely I did do the cmd thing but nothing happened

How do you mean? you let it run or you closed it :?

Fixed, your sound cards may be out of date, if not just configure your speakers. BTW I simply let the CMD process run, I never minimised it.

cracked? really? there are so many things wrong with that. first: it's altered, so having errors is to be expected, second it's illegal. who knows if there's malware embedded in it? if it's cracked, it's usually bad.
