Where do all these great engine sounds come from?

Do some people rip sounds from games themselves here? I see a lot of releases with sounds from games like NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 and Driver SF, even Gamemodels doesn't have these, only the bad Forza sounds.

Oh yeah, I do have TDU2, I read about having to decompile the game to access the audio files once. I'll look into it some day.

I rip GT2 car engines, though its not that realistic, but perfectly fits MM2.
