What do you think of:

Stop thinking of chaos and havoc.

I'm now telling about that. I'm telling that 12 years people aren't "kids" and can drive nicely if they're got good training. Their eyes can have the vision out of the windshield, their hands can reach the steering wheel, horn and gearbox and their feet can reach the accelerator, brake and clutch. So, what do you people think about it?

Where I am, the driving license age is 18. :( I've heard that in US and some other nations it is 16! :) Some n00b was even telling that driving license age must be 21.

I'm also maybe going on the driving seat before 18 because nobody sees. (But maybe not, because I don't have a car.)

So, what do you people think about this?
(If your answer is more than 21, then post it.)

In Portugal it's 18, and 16 for slower motorbikes.

Driving at 12?? Absolutely not. :P Most 12 year olds are even not tall enough to sit properly while driving, and/or have enough maturity to drive a machine. Driving irl isn't a game, you need to understand all the safety rules and be responsible enough to do such thing.

That responsibility and rules can be passed at the age of 12, too.

Or maybe, there can be a different road where they can do chaos.

Driving at 12 years? You mean a real car? No.

But you did that that at 10.

And why not a special area you can kill people if you want? This is real world dude, again it's not a game. If a person is mature enough to drive, surely won't want to do stupid things with a car. That's what you do on a game. Giving cars to kids so they can try to kill themselves is a really dumb idea.

It's possible to control a car at the age of 12, but you need to be able to not only control a car, but act and drive according to the laws and rules. I'd say it's too much for a 12 year old.

It seems you want it to be at 12. What's the reason? Each thing at their due time

In Chile you can drive at 17 years old with an adult on the passenger seat who has a license that is at least five years old. Once you are 18, you can drive alone.

On the other hand, I don't think driving at 12 is a good idea.
Physically, all you need to be able to do is reach the pedals and see through the windshield, but there is a lot more than that. Kids tend to see things one at a time, they have difficulty focousing on multiple objects at the same time, and they get easily distracted (at least that's what my driving manual says), and I don't think they have the ability to consider the consequences of their actions, they could react agressively when facing bad drivers or something that annoys them, they could feel the need for revenge, you could argue that those situations already happen with adult drivers, when they, you know, act like kids.

There is a big responsability when driving a car, especially if you're driving with a passenger... I mean, you could kill someone...

If you want to try it, get a Logitech G27 steering wheel and buy the City Car Driving simulator, still cheaper than a car. :)

As much as I wish I could've driven at 12, I probably was way to short anyway so I think it'd be better to keep it between 16-18... Any older is just ridiculous. At least here in the USA, cars are very useful for stuff like school sports and activities so it's almost a necessity. Being 18 and having been on the road for 2 years, I have seen all the benefits it gives, but theres a time for everything I guess

I think 14 must be a choice as well...

Yes, forget 12, it will be stupid.. But 14 is good.

You are not understanding. Having a driving licence is something as serious as having a gun licence. You need to be responsible and have enough maturity to use a car, understand all the driving laws and apply them while driving. You can say "but I'm responsible, and I know a lot of other dudes that are too", but a law is something meant for everybody.

18 is the minimum, people aren't enought mature before that age. Imagine if a 12 year old would cause a car crash, would he get a ticket or go to mom? :P

No way to have 12 years old kids to drive involuntary weapons called cars... And to me, be able to drive those large displacement and big cars in the US at the age of 16 years old, sounds already too much...
18 years old is alright as starting limit, being a learner that's taking the license driver at 17 years old. From 14 years old is possible to drive a little power scooter and those expensive microcars, but sometimes, that's even too much for the immature responsibility of most of them.

Is that "16" years real or a fake troll?
