Dark shading on mirrored objects

Postby BUGATTIMAN253MPH » Fri Jun 12, 2015 7:56 pm

In one of my conversions there was a mapping glitch in one of the lights so I had to delete it, copy the left light and mirror the copy to the other side, unfortunately I know that when I've finished the car and put it into MM2 the copied light will have a strange dark shading on it. Does anyone know how to fix this in Zmodeler?

This is something that always happens in ZModeler, by copying, mirroring and re-orienting objects. To fix it, you just have to calculate the normal of the object right before unite it with other objects. Anyway, make sure that the normal calculating doesn't ruin the look of the mesh with normal problems.

To prevent it from happening in the first place, make sure you don't click on anything but the object that you are mirroring/reorienting. Usually this stops the problem from occuring for me.
