I have write a lot of problems with Midtown Madness 1 and I have got them for more than one year ago. And I dont have got any help.
What is best to do if I cant get help from mm2x? Please help!

You need as maximun Windows 7.
Windows 8 works too, but you have lag.

I know the problem is anything with Direct Draw.
I know how to get mm2 work on windows 8 but not mm1.
Other games which doesnt use direct draw works well.
I have one more problem with mm1, I cant use any downloaded cars, mods and cities. I search for a patch for direct draw and i have found a patch which works for mm2. Here is the links:

But no one works for Midtown Madness 1 and Scooter Pro.

And it doesnt work. I have also tried the compatibility mode and all patches I can see for mm1 and nothing works. I will not change to windows 7 because it is other things which works better on windows 8. Is it possible for anyone to create a fix like the fixes from the links in this reply but which works for mm1 and Scooter Pro? Or give me another advice? Please help! I hope anyone enjoy this!

The only solution then is installing Windows 7 in a virtual machine (only VMWare works decently), see here how to do it.

You can't use the Direct Draw fix in mm1, only works in mm2 as i have seen.

The lag is unfixable.

Same for all win8 users - only software renderer . That's all windows 8 has taught us... sacrifice. Would be ludicrous to expect something on this from win 10.

You know that you will not fix your game anyway, this community can't help, however, few people is able to play Midtown Madness sadly.
Never use Windows 8 to play MM1, if you use Windows 8.
Keep playing only mm2, get windows 7 if you want to play MM1.
