I agree with Sajmon, seems just a small Easter egg. The fact police will always chase you is probably just a detail Angel Studios forgot to fix on the code, like it was already discussed countless times.

Anyways, it's an interesting theory, but MM series absolutely doesn't seem the kind of games to include this kind of things, even if it's still a simple theory.

I agree with Sajmon, the things are simply so because this series has no storyline, but you've thought a nice and not so unreal theory.

They will chase opponents if an opponent drives past the cop.

If you are near a opponent (behind him), the cop will chase him, don't ask me, i am a just a MM2 cop.

This is the truth, seriously. (Still theory but looks really true, well, we are not going to go to the technical stuff.)

I also have heard something like that. It might be done by Angel Studious so that it will look that the player is wanted. Because the cops will always chase the player. Microsoft had told Angel Studious to do MM2 in good time. So, that might be a possibility. But I cut MM3 from this list because it is NOT a real MM.

Midtown Madness 3 was a game made by a different studio, which explains why it doesn't feel like the first titles. It is, technically, a MM game since it belongs to the franchise.
