Midnight Club Tokyo

Tokyo's existence in the first Midnight Club has been something rumored for years, but finally I know the truth. Yes - it does exist

And here is the ultimate proof:

[ yes, there is also Chicago (c01) but I will talk about it in another topic :) ]

As if that isn't amazing enough, there isn't only one version of Tokyo, there are two - t01 and t02:

There's even a hudmap:

and the MC2 Tokyo hudmap as comparison:

I eventually managed to get both cities working in MM3323, however they will not work in MM2 yet. But for now, the project is ongoing with converting the traffic cars from MC2 and MC3 Remix to work in-game. So far, I successfully converted va_bus_t to work as traffic vehicle and made a hudmap, but it appears to be showing incorrect locations.

Overall, here is what I noticed:
t01 - has working AI traffic, but less buildings and roads;
t02 - no working AI traffic, but looks more completed with more buildings and districts pretty much completed, and even working water!

The maps are MASSIVE and it's such a shame Tokyo never became reality in MCSR. So, my plan eventually is to finish it :) Of course I can't do it alone, so I will need help. If someone is willing to help me with Tokyo, feel free to PM me.

But for now, I will convert the traffic vehicles from MC2 and MC3 Remix to work

That's awesome, great find! :D It's really nice know a such secret in the MC1 files, but shame that both the versions are so much incomplete and a lot buggy.
Good luck on this city whenever you'll decide to work on it.

Nice! I always wanted Tokyo to race through.

btw, where can I get MM3323? I tried googling it, but I can't find it anywhere. All I get are some random results containing license plate numbers and stock images.

Awesome! You found tokyo! Did you find the firetruck/cruise cops, though?

So, what about them? This has nothing to do with this beta Tokyo

Yes it does :| You could just give him a proper answer rather than be a total ass as usual.

Oh really, how?

It has nothing to do with that. He is referring to the fact cops are activated during races in MCSR and MC2, but not available in free roam. This has nothing to do with beta Tokyo, not even about discovering vehicles which were cut

You should go play MC2 and you will know what is this about rather than writing nonsense.

Sorry about that, I got a little too excited.
Nice video of that Skyline. It's sad that Tokyo and Chicago were cut from mc1, because that tokyo is just awesome compared to the mc2 and mc3 tokyos.

Yes, this version of Tokyo is much bigger and more fun in comparison with it's latter counterpart :P

As for Chicago, it was never meant to be in MC anyway.
