suggestion for a Smarter AI mod

Hey, ya know ill tell u this what i really wish somebody would do is make a police and traffic mod that would bring up their AI, make it so u have to be speeding to get a police chase, give you the option to be caught by the cops, and mabye even put a radio feature that lets u hear the conversation between the police like in NFS. Also, somebody really needs to fix the AI of the traffic cars, i know somebody made a smarter AI traffic mod but it really doesnt work. It just always annoyes me when a car rear ends me for no reason, they always act like we're the enemies?

You could actually improve the AI of the cop cars, traffic cars, and pedestrians, although it would be hard and no one understands enough about the files and programming that was done to change the AI really. HQTM Team did change the AI and animations and such of the pedestrians through one file, so I suppose it's not too hard really. You could always try getting in contact with Maxoff by pming him on mm2c or HQTM Teams forum and see what he has to say about it.

As far as having the cops chase you for actually speeding, it's probably not possible to do that, except for hacking into the mm2 exe and reprogramming mm2 which no one could/can really do. The other things you mentioned would not be possible unless you reprogrammed mm2, and if someone was to do that, they practically might as well create a whole new game.

Remember, this is Midtown Madness 2. It's not about realism, it's about madness.

First thing to know about the game: Midtown Madness 2 is an old basic game and its AI is very simple, like the effects on the car; few things can be improved and none can be added about it. The features to improve are just based on changing some values, like the police cars number and speed, traffic cars speed, pedestrians animations settings, etc.

Forget all these dreams for it and think about a new game.

BoosterMM did that. It's just to edit some values about the various animations of the pedestrians. The same it's for their number. Similar changes can be done for the car wheel effects, to the rain, cop and traffic cars and little more.

thats really too bad but they should really make another midtown madness for pc because we're really runnin out of good pc games like mm2, it's a shame really because most of us got really excited about mm3 and then it came out only for xbox and i don't want to have to buy an xbox just to play mm3.

trevor0195 , your ideas is very well , i'd love too , but impossible , make another game , NFS Most Wanted had the same thing , u can Listen to the police Radio , so only one could do that

I really, really doubt another mm2 will ever be made. There may be a game made that is more like mm2 (not talking about GTA here), but not another mm2 game.

I don't think, that there will be ever another Midtown Madness game. Microsoft hasn't planned it. But I hope that they'll make MM3 for PC, because it's cool, too.

For sure the Midtown Madness series is over since years. I know that would be cool to have a new game like MM2 with the most recent NFS games features, like more smart police.
Microsoft won't make any MM3 for PC. I think that Microsoft decides to make MM3 for its Xbox console only to put a nice game in the Xbox games collection, and especially to let sell the 2003 Christmas package, with Xbox console, Halo and Midtown Madness 3 games.

yeah i know wat u guys mean that they wont make another mm and i agree but they shoulda put mm3 out for pc but the big thing that sucked about it was it didnt apply the same driving experience cuz on mm3 u just dont feel like ur going fast and its just too realistic with the way that u cant really move cars outa the way too easily without losing a significant amount of speed, its just not as fun.

It was made to be realistic unlike mm1 and mm2, which doesn't go along with the name Midtown Madness. Oh well.

It's too bad that the one person who said he found out how to make it run for the PC

yeah , mm3 in pc will be Super , MM2 is already good , but MM3 with it's graphiqs , and more AddOns , i let you dream

wow hummersrock r u kidding?!? do u or anybody else wanna figure out how cuz that would be great and with all the modding we all do we could probably make it a little more like mm2!
