Madness City 4 is here!

Great news today, the long waited city made by Madness Sting called Madness City 4 has been finally released as unfinished beta version.
It was presented in 2005, and since that year there were few updates and no more news, and all we were thinking that it was now cancelled, at least for who knows about it. I've some pictures of this map, saved in that year. His last update has been done in last update at 22th of May 2006, but there's no news about the track progress posted in that year.

I was thinking to complete it trying to get the files through Den, but I can be interested now too. But for now, enjoy it. :D

Here's a picture of the PSDL terrain of the city, that's also its map. I've checked that now isn't no more like in this picture.

After a try I can say that's a very well made city so far, and a lot can be done. There are some races modes, but the game will crash trying to play them because there aren't the races files.
I've started to see it in MM2 City Toolkit program, and this nice city has a great powerful of editing with nice ideas to improve it. :wink: Other things need to be fixed.

Den is completing it? You might complete it? I was thinking of trying to complete it also. Really everyone that wants to complete it should get together and complete it (no, I mean, really). It needs plenty more buildings, other nice touches, hidden areas, trees, etc. There are also some glitches with the traffic that might be possible to fix, and I think some of it should be remade so that the other roads, which are just pkgs at the moment, are actual roads.

It would be best to have people work together to complete it because there are so many textures and objects that need to be made. If we had a few people working together then it should be much easier to make this great city, like Madness City 3.

After Sajmon's city ,NewYork Imroved , Now it's Madness City 4 in 2 Week :D

I've said that I would like to complete and improve it, and I've already started fixing some PKG objects positions and adding some prop. I meant that I wanted the files through Den, because since he recently contacted Madness Sting there could be a possibility to get the files. However, the choice to release it as unfinished version has been the best for all. Madness Sting has been online in these days, and this had to mean something.
You're right about make a common project to complete it, where each one makes something different. It needs especially the adding of props objects like trees, lights, etc. Would be a bit hard and not good if only one person makes an improved version when there are other members interested in doing the same thing.

Anything of this city has been made with MM2 City Toolkit program, maybe it has been used only for successive edits.

Well actually you can.

Convert the PSDL to a .ase file, import into blender, export to .lwo (or 3ds if possible), remap all textures (load the psdl into mm2city toolkit for help), and then it is in 3D again. Then you must remake all of the sidewalks and roads. But that won't have the objects though, which is a big problem.

It would only be needed to fix some things like the one road with sidewalks that is a pkg object, and the other dirt roads that are pkg objects. It would take a lot of work for that though.

But yeah, we should get some people together and finish it.

Well actually you can.

I know that's possible get the PSDL as .ase file and then as .3ds file, but as you've also said you won't get the parts for roads, intersections and grounds that the MM2 City Toolkit program needs to make the PSDL correctly, and so you must make them for this. That's the main problem.
For example, the SF PSDL model got by Tonywolfe must be fixed to be imported in MM2 City Toolkit to let generate correctly the PSDL, but it won't never be like the original PSDL; the same is for any other PSDL file.

The PSDL of Madness City 4 is ok actually, but a bit I don't like how are made the intersections sidewalks. Also, there's an useless ground, the one with that white texture assigned, where's placed the PKG object of the MC4 Corp building.
